Sunshine

Well, the time just flies when you're flying, too! I started this year's summer vacation early and flew to my beautiful country of birth.

When other parts of Europe were shivering of cold, Finland was sunbathing and loving it. The beginning of the summer was just gorgeous - for over two weeks the sun kept on shining. In the summer in Finland, people shed their dull, thick winter coats also metaphorically, and start livin' it up!

Summer is also the time of celebration. We had the honour to celebrate our beloved grandma, who turned 80 in the beginning of June. A respectable age!

A stormy sky as a back drop and the sun shining from the back gives such a vivid image that is every photographer's dream setting! :)

2013

Happy New Year all!

We started the new year by going bob-sliding in Lech, in the snowy sceneries of one of the most idyllic villages in Vorarlberg.

On January 1st, at the end of the outdoor activities, pizza was our choice of dinner.
After dinner, the change of the year was noticed explosively and celebrated in the honour of Falco, Austria's gift to the international music scene. The fireworks were in sync with the beat of the music.

This time, no New Year's resolutions were made, just hopes and dreams what the year might entail. What it brings, remains to be seen!

So that you can set the mood of the New Year's Day like we experienced it, here are some of Falco's undying hits.

Beautiful Times

Oopsie, would yo look at the time! It has gone by way too quickly. During these past couple of months that I've kept "radio silence" I have been busy travelling and working in Austria, Finland and Denmark.

I will show you the best of the pictures of the main events eventually but meanwhile, I hope you all have had a very merry Christmas and I would like to wish you a happy, happy New Year!

May your wishes come true.

Wedding

Last weekend we were invited to a Colombian-Austrian wedding here in Bogotá. The etiquette said 'black tie' which meant it was going to be quite formal and fancy so I had to start a dress hunt!

All my better dresses are back in Europe so I had no other option except to buy a new one. At first it was a bit of head scratcher as it seemed there are no long dresses anywhere but I finally a week before the wedding the right one appeared itself.

The wedding took place in Bogotá at a beautiful little estate called Hacienda San Juan.

The view to the city was gorgeous especially when it got darker.

Chatting with the groom and getting to know some other people. The wedding was truly international with guests from all over the world - Austria, Colombia, Miami, Peru, Brazil, Finland, Switzerland...

Here comes the bride...

The priest gave the funniest speech I have ever heard. He was referring to the bride as the Good Wife and was reminding the couple that if either one of them gets bored with each other, there's no exchanging, because it's too late! This is now it. :D

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!"

After the round of congratulations it was time to move to indoors.

All the single ladies, all the single ladies, all the single ladies, all the single ladies... Now put your hands up!

The eager bachelors are waiting for the garder...

After the dinner and the first dance as a married couple the programme included wild dancing, masquerade and whisky.

To be continued...
