Christmas Flair In Copenhagen
Especially Christmas season is a great time to have a minibreak in one of Europe's metropoles because of all the luminous decoration, holiday spirits and the events that are offered around the world. If you're lucky with booking, it's also cost-efficient and you're quickly in the destination of your choice.
We chose Copenhagen, the design capital of Scandinavia. With a short flight straight from Oulu we reached the city in few funny hours.
Long weekend trip is a way you can have a break of the busy schedule, see how others are preparing themselves for Christmas and perhaps even do some of Santa's work. By going with a friend you can combine the new city flair with good old quality time.
But it's not all shopping! One of the most known sights in Copenhagen is the harbour area Nyhavn and its beautiful, colourful houses. It can be easily reached by foot or by bike, being close to the other end of the main shopping street, Strøget.
The sides of Nyhavn are filled with charming restaurants and cute little boutiques.
During winter the chilly breeze coming from the sea can go deep into the bones but you can defrost yourself with a warm, spicy Glühwein or cup of hot, steaming cocoa offered at the Christmas stands. After the holiday season, step into one of the cozy restaurants to warm up.
Besides Nyhavn, among Copenhagen's most well known sights is Tivoli. Vesterbrö, on the other hand, introduces what Copenhagen has to offer off the beaten path, but more about that later...

Danke dir! Very great, indeed! :) Let's make it a tradition - where to next year?
Definitely! Any suggestions? I will come to Austria anyways. :)
Hmm, I have suggestions, all right. :D Stockholm, London, Vienna, Amsterdam... We have time to pick! ;)
Yes, we do have plenty of time! Except looking the pictures makes me want to go right away. :D
You're right about that! ;)
