Papudo and Zapallar

Instead of talking much this time, I thought it would be nice to just show you the amazingly beautiful sceneries we saw this weekend by the sea and let the photos do the talking. Papudo and Zapallar are both little villages by the Pacific Ocean about 180 km to northwest from Santiago.

Papudo

Once by the sea, naturally you must try the local treats at the restaurant - fish in its many forms. And of course, pisco saur.

View from the house to the sea.

Fishermen were at work already at dawn.

Callas grow here in the gardens, not just at the florist.

Papudo looks almost like a ghost town at this time of the year.

Also the park was empty.

Daily specialties of empanadas, pastries filled for example with cheese, shrimps or seafood.

Little man, hombrecito, Santiago.

The bus office of Tur-Bus busses.

Barbequing at the beach house later that day.

Zapallar

Zapallar's own palm beach.

The exclusive beach in Zapallar.

Misty, chilly weather didn't slow the divers down.

Zapallar boats.

Unfinished chores waiting.

Pelicans having a siesta.

Strolling on the beach promenade.

Watch out the dog.

Lukas making new friends.

Max and Lukas.

Supermercado has the charm of the past decades.

The village bus but luckily not the bus which took us back to Santiago.
