Graffiti Girls

It's been quiet around here due to the European Football Championships and the busy schedule of the last classes of my photography course. I will show you some results after the course is done.

So that you won't get bored, I decided to show you a selection of random photos which I haven't shared with you yet. These pictures date to May, actually. They were taken a few blocks from our house, during our urban bike tour one Sunday afternoon. Daniela and I started to pose in front of a painted wall. The crazy graffiti got us really silly! :D

CicloPaseo

Bike Art Made By Lukas
CicloPaseo is a little company that organises bike tours with a guide. The package includes police escort, stretching before the start and mini lunch after the tour.

As we were there too punctually we had to wait an hour for the rest of the slower Colombians to arrive. Late Latino style! :) Therefore, we had also time to take in the surroundings and take pictures.

La Calera is a place where we have been before but the village is turning out to be much bigger than we first thought as there are dozens of possibilities for mountain bike fanatics. And there is no beginners' level, so it's a rough ride! :D

After we started I had no time to take pictures anymore - I had to concentrate on the road and on keeping up with the rest of the group. Luckily, as a country girl I wasn't always the slowest... There were some city people who were suffering more!

Well, scenery like this just had to be captivated and appreciated!

The city looks enormous. And it is! There are more people living there than in whole Finland.

As it turned out, having a guide wasn't all that handy. At some point nobody knew where to go so we had to wait to get more information... The guide had no clue either!

Oh yes, that's where the "road" continued! It is called Camino de Indios (Indians' Path) where the indigenous people of Colombia used to hike. The Indians didn't have bikes though...

And that was the last I saw of Lukas and Lisandro until the end of the Indian Path. Huh, I'll bet they didn't see this:

It was a challenging path - no wonder Lukas loved it!

Some went down the path faster than others - cuts, scrapes and ouchie are the result!

Waiting for some people before descending to the centre of the village...

We made it! Exhausted but happy. :)

Viota Verde

Verde means green in Spanish and Viota was full of it! Nature is amazing. All the different shades of green, the tropical plants and animals accompanied with warm and humid yet fresh air was an experience like nothing else.

This is the true Colombia!

We did two different bike tours - the first day we were cycling uphill on asfalt; the next day the owner of the finca we were staying at, Rodrigo, showed us even more beautiful a way on the other side of the hill.

As the sun was already setting, we cycled back to the finca and took a plunge in the pool! Ahh... that's vacation!! The second tour we did was breathtaking, in all senses of the word.

We were also able to marvel the nature's work of art - these little ants had made a path which they used to carry cargo many times their own size! It was a little factory: a part was in charge of carrying, the other part was "cutting" the leaves.
